WATER SPA
The ‘Water Spa’ is conceived as a closed rounded space, floating on the water of the Arabian Gulf. Independent of the mainland except for a pedestrian pier giving access to the circular structure, the spa facility becomes a location of repose from the bustling activity of urban life. A perimeter ring of leasable cabanas protect an internal central swimming area which permits direct contact with the water in a safe and private environment.
Functioning as a female’s beach by day and spa by night, the ring structure provides a unique location for guests to experience the sea. It seeks to create a typology characterized by the allowance of expansive exterior and interior views. The porous design uses a natural material palette of wood and fabric whereby the facility is left open to the sky, wind and water.
